The Center for Khmer
Studies is pleased to announce that a conference to present recent
discoveries and new perspectives on late prehistoric and early historic
Cambodia will be held at the Center’s headquarters in Siem Reap,
Cambodia, on January 10-12, 2005. A workshop on this topic was held at
the CKS in March 2002 with support from the Rockefeller Foundation.
The
workshop fostered the formation of several research projects comprising
Khmer and foreign scholars. These have now been completed. Much
important pre-Angkor scholarship had already been initiated by scholars
from Cambodia and other nations at the time of the 2002 conference, and
other projects have since been initiated.
It is
hoped that the conference in January 2005 will provide an opportunity
for all those interested in pre-Angkor Cambodia to share their results
with one another.

Those who would like to attend the conference,
are welcome to do so. Observers are requested to register online with
the CKS.
